Two Earthquakes in Southern California – San Diego Market Report 7/5/19

Amazing San Diego Sunset

We Really Live in a Great Place!
As you may have heard, Southern California experienced major earthquakes within two days, during this Independence Day week.
With a 6.4 and 7.1 magnitude quakes in Ridgecrest, CA on July 4th and 5th respectively, many may be asking if the “Big One” is coming.
Most experts say that the it’s not a question of whether the “Big One” will come, but when it will come. See the L.A. Times story here.
With that being said, we may very well live in the perfect spot, here in San Diego.
It just so happens that in addition to our near perfect weather, we are far enough away from the San Andreas Fault that most of San Diego would likely not be affected by a major earthquake.
Aside from the fact that we are one of the younger California cities, most homes are built with earthquake resistant wood frame and stucco. They are also built on a more stable foundation of decomposed granite.
